Small Talk Six: T-Shirts

Today’s topic is “6 t-shirts you’ve read and loved.” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .

OMGosh! This is gonna be AWESOME! I will dig up six pictures. These are in no particular order. (Except where noted, these are from CafePress.)
1. Exercise: Some motivation required. ~ I actually bought this one! It cracks me up every. single. time. I look at it! This one is from shirt.woot! – a site I frequent because it's just too dang funny! Unfortunately, most of their shirts don't require reading – they just have funny graphics (with a funny title for the shirt). But, I had to share this one!

2. Supply ~ This one coupled with the one below is another favorite of mine. Although, I can no longer wear it, as it no longer applies to me.

3. Demand ~ I just thought these were too cute when I was breastfeeding.
4. I'm 2. What's your excuse? ~ I've seen this in many places in many different styles. It cracks me up.
5. I do all my own stunts ~ Target had a similar shirt (with the same phrase) somewhat recently. We have one in size 2, and one in size 5 ...
6. I still live with my parents ~ Another shirt similar to something they once had at Target. Grant wore it a year or two ago. Everywhere we went, people thought it was the funniest shirt! LOL I so wish I had bought it in bigger sizes!

OK, this was too much fun! I could've listed tons and tons of shirts! LOL Now it’s your turn! Post your list and go back HERE to link up and find others’ lists!

Small Talk Six: Flower Power

This week's topic is flowers. Share your top 6 favorite flowers. Per the rules, you can do a list of 6, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 sentences, etc. This week, 6 photos (all from rgbstock.com).

1. Lilacs ~ For one, they're PURPLE. But, more importantly, they smell AWESOME!
2. Lily ~ Not just any lily. This is the closest pic I could find to what my favorite lily is. I only know it as naked-lady lily. (I'm afraid to Google that ...) They're pink. The leaves grow early in the summer, then several weeks later the flowers (TALL stalks) appear and bloom. Naked – no leaves.

3. Columbine ~ I LOVE how different they are from the "typical" flower.

4. Gerbera Daisies ~ I hadn't even heard of these before I worked in a flower shop for a few months during college. I think they're beautiful!

5. Bird of Paradise ~ In case you can't tell, I love flowers that are somewhat exotic and/or unusual. While I can appreciate roses, tulips, daffodils, irises, etc., I am drawn to flowers that are unique and different from what is often typically seen. I LOVE these, and they're even better in person than via photo!

6. Bleeding Heart ~ I love hearts, and these flowers just amaze me!

Small Talk Six: The Name Game

This week's topic is about names for your kids. Share the names you considered with your kids. Since I have three kids, and the names in consideration were different each time, I'll share what we considered for all of them. Instead of just listing six names, I'll write six paragraphs (which, according to this week's post, is just fine) – two for each child. (This one doesn't count!)

Abigail
We considered LOTS of names for our sweet Abigail. The other girl names we considered included Natalie, Isabella (Bella for short), Frances (which is her middle name), Lily, Ilena (or Elena), and Elizabeth (which is Natalie's middle name).

The boy names we considered for Abigail included Andrew (the only one we could agree on), Hayden, Zachary, Alexander, Anthony, and Ryan.

Grant
We knew he was a boy pretty early on – before I was 15 weeks pregnant. So, we didn't really discuss girl names for him from that point on. In fact, I don't remember any girl names we had even briefly considered prior to that point.

We had a tough time with boy names. Our top one was taken a year earlier by my brother-in-law for his son, so Andrew was out. Alexander was our second favorite when Abby was cookin', but also was used by family. Instead, we considered Nathaniel, Anthony James (AJ for short), Ryan, Nicholas (almost named him this, but decided not to because I knew our next girl would be Natalie – I didn't want Natalie and Nicky), Benjamin, and Ethan.

Natalie
My husband was pretty set on girl names this time around. Despite my best efforts, he wasn't really open to any names other than Natalie for her. But, a few I liked included Lyla, Allison (thought Abby and Ally was cute), Lucy, Penelope (Penny), Kate, and Gwen (probably short for something, which I cannot remember at the moment, but not Gwyneth).

We hardly discussed boy names, because we just do NOT have similar tastes when it comes to boy names (probably why God gave us two girls LOL). We discussed it a little early on, but because of ongoing disagreements in that area decided to wait until we knew what gender we were having. Once we knew we didn't need a boy name, we stopped talking about it. But, we did consider some, including Ryan, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Harrison, Anthony, and Edward.

Small Talk Six: Celebrity Crushes

Here's another fun thing I've not done before. Apparently, there's a weekly (Saturday) post over at Momdot. Amazingly, the whole YEAR is already planned out! If you wanna see what's coming or find out exactly how this works, check this out!

This week's topic: 6 celebrities you had a crush on when you were a Tween/Teen. I gotta think back - I had TONS of celebrity crushes, especially in the junior high years! LOL Initially, I can only think of a couple, but we'll see what I can do.

1. Johnny Depp in the 21 Jump Street days. Looking back at the old pics, I must say: there's one thing that DEFINITELY got even better with age ...

2. Joey McIntyre from NKOTB. I LOVED him. And I was totally psyched because he was somewhat close to my age! LMAO I had posters of him EVERYWHERE! I kid you not!

3. Tom Cruise. What young girl in the late '80s and early '90s didn't love him?

4. Luke Perry. I was a HUGE 90210 (the original only, please) fan - HUGE.

5. Christian Slater. I wasn't as into him as I was into others, but I do remember a time when I had a crush on him. Loved his voice – still do, actually – and he was – and still is – pretty attractive.

6. Mark-Paul Gosselaar ~ I was a HUGE Saved By the Bell fan because of him! LOL

Hee, hee! That was fun! So, who did you lust after in your tween/teen years? Do share! :-)
